Sustainability in Ørestaden – worlds greenest hotel
Hotel Crowne Plaza is Denmark’s leading hotel in terms of sustainability which permeates every aspect of the hotel. Its green profile means that they consume 65% less energy than other com–parable hotels.
We will go inside and see Black Olive Trees in a dense forest in the lobby, which is public – the hotel wants it to be an open place during day . We will feel the perfect microclimate provided by the glass-roofed structure. It gives a comfy green feeling to the visitors when it’s dark and cold outside during the Danish winter.
In the kitchen all food waste is crushed and sucked into a 10.000 l tank in the basement, from which it is transported to a biogas plant and converted. And a lot of other creative and sustainable initiatives have been completed, which I hardly can wait to show you.
